The Environment

JDM is a zero landfill site.

Vegetable waste is collected in bulkers that are parked on site at least twice weekly, this includes all vegetable waste that is accumulated through the production process or dumping process. This product is shredded and screened to the accredited PAS100 standard. It is then available for agricultural application, so that farmers can now use this on their fields to aid composting and farming practice. Our general waste is also collected on a weekly basis in a compactor skip, this then goes to RDF (refuse-derived fuel).

All our cardboard is baled are sold for further processing. Similarly all plastics including buckets and corex are palletised and sold for recycling.

Our freshwater is stored in onsite tanks, collected and spread on to agricultural land under licence.

Eventually everything on site is recycled.
